There is also the possibility of extending the wall on the sides, as in the WPT, to avoid the blows that occur on the back glass and then on the side grid.
In general, the dimensions of the court are similar to those of a tennis court. It is 10 meters wide and 20 meters long, while the tennis court is 10.97 meters wide and 23.77 meters long. That said, the total surface area of a doubles padel court is 200 square meters.
The service lines should be parallel to the net separating the court and 6.95 meters from it. The center line between the service boxes is 5 meters from each side of the court, that is, in the center of the court. It should also be noted that all lines on the padel court are 5 cm wide.
This is a padel court for two players only. The single padel court is usually 6 meters wide and 20 meters long.
The padel net is 10 m long and 88 cm high in the center and 92 cm high at the ends. A tolerance of the net heights of ± 0.5 cm is allowed for both heights. The net mesh shall have a diagonal of 4.5 cm.
The net shall be suspended by a rope with a maximum diameter of 1 cm, the ends of which shall be attached to two side posts with a maximum height of 1.05 m or fixed directly to the structure of the field.
The cable tensioning device must be designed in such a way that it is not deformed and does not constitute a risk for the players.
It is possible to build an indoor padel court if you intend to open a padel club. For such an undertaking, the height of the roof is a very important point to take into account. Indeed, a technique widely used in the game is the “lob” and a ceiling too low could compromise it. Therefore, the minimum recommended ceiling height is 7 m.
The walls of the padel court should be glazed and should provide a regular and even bounce of the ball.
The walls can be made of any transparent or opaque material. What is essential is that they offer the necessary regularity and a regular and uniform bounce of the ball. Whatever the material, its surface finish must be uniform, hard and smooth, without roughness, to allow optimum contact for ball sliding.
