It has only been a few days since HEAD launched its new Speed series of padel rackets. In this context, we will now have a look at all the details and make a comparison of two of them: the Speed One X and the Speed Motion.
The innovative Speed series, in particular, consists of a total of five rackets: the Speed One X, the Speed One, the Speed Pro, the Speed Motion and the Speed Team. All of them have been designed with a new premium design and the latest technologies and are suitable for advanced players and competitive players who want to speed up their game.
The new Speed One X racket from HEAD
It’s time for a new review and it’s the turn of the new racket from HEAD, the Speed One X. It is one of the rackets that are part of its innovative design of padel rackets with a single hole.
It has been manufactured with a top quality 2D carbon hitting surface and weighs 365 grams. As we have already mentioned, it is perfect for advanced and competitive players and is also the most resistant of the Speed series.
This is thanks to the latest technologies that have been incorporated, such as the Extreme Spin rough surface, designed thanks to a 3D decal, which maximizes the grip of the ball to improve the effects in each stroke.
The new Speed Motion 2025 racket from HEAD
With regard to the Speed Motion 2025, we highlight that it is backed by the current world number 1, Ariana Sanchez. It is a racket with a teardrop shape, just like the previous one, but with a better manoeuvrability due to its lighter weight. We could say, therefore, that it is more comfortable and easier to play with.
The main difference with the Speed One X is its design with all the holes we are used to in a padel racket. It is also light and versatile and, as a consequence, it becomes a manoeuvrable and reactive weapon.
In addition to this, it is important to know that it has been updated with a new exclusive premium design, including a dual-effect paint and colour that reacts to reflections.
Great feel and soft cap on the grip
The Auxetic 2.0 technology, which is now located both in the bridge area and in the central carbon bar inserted along the length of the grip. Thus, after hitting the ball, the internal structure reacts by transmitting the strike from the face, through the bridge, and directly from the grip to the hand. This provides an incredible feeling of impact and response on every shot, increasing confidence in the game.
Both rackets also have an improved Soft Butt Cap 2.0, and only the Speed One X features the exclusive Damp Plus system. The latter is strategically placed in the bridge area and is responsible for isolating and dampening vibrations from the hitting surface to the grip, providing greater comfort.
The Speed One X features a high level of durability provided by the innovative One technology, combined with a unique two-dimensional carbon fibre hitting surface material. It is unique in the market, woven in two dimensions and exclusively designed to give greater rigidity, hardness and resistance. It is a special material that adds explosive power and precision to your shots.
The Speed Motion has an exclusive hitting surface, made of a hybrid woven material that combines the best performance of carbon fibre and fibreglass, providing a medium-hard feel and, thus, improving control and power in fast strokes.
Responsiveness and design
It is also worth mentioning the Smart Bridge technology, which both rackets feature, which consists of a specific and unique development of the bridge area to offer different benefits adapting to the needs of each racket.
Both the Speed One X and the Speed Motion have been equipped with Power Foam rubber, which has a fast response capacity and is ideal for maximum power and strength, improving and supporting offensive and fast strokes such as the smash, X3 and X4.
In terms of external appearance, the Speed One X racket features a revolutionary design with a unique hitting surface for a superior level of durability. Likewise, it also sports a modern, premium design with a matte and glossy finish.
In the same vein, the Speed Motion is the perfect combination of power and control for advanced players and has a premium design with a unique glossy paint finish.
Returning to something in common between the two rackets, all the frames have been meticulously engineered for optimum performance. This technology makes it possible to build tubeless rackets, extending the rubber material on the face all the way to the edge, which maximises the sweet spot and allows for greater forgiveness.
The Graphene Inside that both share strengthens the frame, provides greater stability and optimises ball exit. It also has a special polymer film, Anti Shock Skin Padel, which increases the durability of the racket by protecting it from knocks and scratches. This can be easily replaced, maximising its lifespan even further.
Mentioning a technology that is only present in the Speed Motion, we can talk about the Optimized Sweet Spot, which expands the sweet spot area by creating a unique pattern of holes to suit the characteristics of the racket.
Which rackets is each racket aimed at?
Insisting once again on the type of players that HEAD has thought of when designing its new rackets in the Speed series, the truth is that all of them are perfect for advanced and expert players.
Focusing a little more on the specialities of each of them and for which profiles one or the other is better, it should be noted that the Speed One X is a better option for those who are looking for greater acceleration in their game, as well as a racket with great durability.
On the other hand, we can say that the Speed Motion would be a better choice for players who need a slightly lighter and more manageable racket and, therefore, also more comfortable. This model also favours a faster and more powerful game, while its medium-hard feel improves the control of the stroke.
