Premier Padel has stopped off in the Netherlands to offer, once again, the best padel in the world. And boy, have they done it. This is what the finals of the Rotterdam Premier Padel P1 have brought us.

Tapia and Coello closer and closer to the number 1 spot

After yesterday’s semi-finals, and with the precedent of the Madrid final, it was easy to anticipate another victory for Tapia and Coello. However, every match brings with it unique nuances, and this one was no exception. Today, the best couple in the world took another step towards consolidating their leadership.

Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia won with a resounding double 6-2, once again showing their most overwhelming version. It seems that, against Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, it’s the only time they really have to try a little harder. Like Stupa and Yanguas yesterday, they focused their attacking strategy on Galán, who still hasn’t found his best level after the summer break. He still doesn’t seem to have fully recovered his sensations on the court.

The numbers in the Rotterdam Premier Padel P1 final are clear: the number 1’s hit 17 winners, compared to just 4 for their opponents, a statistic that perfectly reflects the development of the match. But it’s not just the statistics, Coello also played an almost perfect match, committing his first unforced error in the sixth game of the second set. For his part, Tapia maintained his great form, with 20 winners and only six unforced errors.

Paula and Ari consolidate their lead

In the women’s draw, we witnessed what is currently the best possible match. The four players offered a very high level from the first to the last point, but, as we saw in the Madrid semifinals, it is the small strategic adjustments that end up making the difference in these close matches.

A break in the first game was enough for Sanchez and Josemaria to take the first set 6-4. In the second set, they started without giving a single chance, taking a 4-0 lead. However, at that point, they suffered another brief disconnection that allowed their opponents to get closer on the scoreboard. Fortunately for them, the psychological support of Claudio Gilardoni was key, helping them to react in time to close out the set with another 6-4 win and take their seventh title of the season.
