The draws for the Riyadh P1 were made on Saturday

The 2024 Premier Padel starts in Saudi Arabia. This Saturday, the draws were made for the Riyadh Season P1, the first event of what promises to be a historic and exciting season. However, it won’t be until Monday when we can see the best players in the world in action.

What are the draws for Riyadh P1?

Men’s final draw

In the men’s tournament, made up of 48 pairs, the 16 seeds will go straight into the second round.

For Juan Lebron and Ale Galan, who won the last Premier 2023 in Milan and will start as top seeds, they will face the winning pair of the match between Daniel Windahl and Jose Marmolejo against Jose Luis Gonzalez and Antonio Luque. Precisely, the Spanish pairing are in the same draw as Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno, number 3 pairing, who are likely to face Spaniards Arnau Ayats and Fran Guerrero or a pairing from the qualifiers. Another pairing in the same section of the draw will be Fede Chingotto and Momo Gonzalez, one of the new 2024 couples, who will debut against Xisco Gil and Ramiro Moyano or two qualifiers.

At the bottom, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, seeded number 2 and winners of 4 Premier Padel events in 2023, will presumably face Javi Ruiz and Pablo Cardona or a pairing from the qualifying round. Among the most awaited novelties is also the return of the duo formed by Paquito Navarro and Sanyo Gutierrez, seeded number 4. The players from Seville and San Luis could face Javi Rico and Juanlu Esbri. Another of the expected debuts will be that of Fernando Belasteguin and Lucho Capra, who will almost certainly face Aris Patiniotis and Facu Dominguez.

Women’s final draw

In the women’s category, the final draw is made up of 32 pairs, as opposed to the 48 in the men’s category. In this case, there will be no bye and the best pairings in the draw will debut in the first round.

Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez, the number 1 seeds, will debut against Marta Talavan and Nuria Rodriguez. Also in the same section of the draw will be a couple making their debut as Tamara Icardo and Ale Salazar, couple 4, who will face Sara Ruiz and Marina Martinez.

On the other side of the draw, Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez, number 2 pairing, will face a pairing from the qualifiers. Marta Ortega and Gemma Triay, number 3 pairing, will make their debut in their last tournament together against Sofia Saiz and Melania Merino. It’s worth remembering that both Ortega and Triay are signed up with other teammates for the second event of Premier Padel, the Qatar Major.

Below, you can see all the pairings in the women’s draw:

Remember that the qualifiers are already in play in both the men’s and women’s categories. You can check the results on the International Padel Federation website.
