After a week full of emotions, with authentic great matches, Belgium says goodbye to the best padel in the world. The women’s final started at 14:00 in Spain, and the men’s final finished at 19:20. After five hours, here are the results of the Brussels P2 finals.
Results of the Brussels P2 finals
Chingalan is now a reality!
A few minutes ago this final ended, many of us had no more nails to bite. Two and a half hours of match in which everything has happened. Arturo Coello already warned after winning the final in Puerto Cabello against Chingotto and Galan: “What a couple that has come together”, said the player from Valladolid.
The first set was defined by a tight 6-4 for the Spanish-Argentine couple. The second set started very favorably for Jorge Martinez’s team with an early break, but the No. 1’s were not going to give up so easily. They even had five match balls against them that they were able to solve wonderfully. But boy, is it difficult to close a match. This situation weighed heavily on the player from Madrid, who made several consecutive unforced errors unbecoming of him.
But the turning point would come with 5-5 on the scoreboard at the rest Agus and Arturo: Ale is sold on a shot to which Tapia and Coello come like crazy to the net to get the ball out of the court. They almost collided in the air, but the player from Valladolid managed to get the ball over the four-meter fence. As is well known, at the exact moment that the ball goes over the back fence, the point ends. While the ball is in the air, the chair umpire calls bad because, according to him, Coello touches the net.
As it is logical, they ask for a video review, in which it can be seen that neither of the two touches the net; the mess is mounted. Nobody could believe it, but the point of the matter is that the referee calls it bad before the ball comes out and the point is over. So from a supposed 6-5 and serve in the second set, to 40-all.
The match was stopped for several minutes, Arturo got a warning for vehemently punishing his quadriceps with blows of the racket. Fortunately, the second set went to a tiebreak, but this stoppage caused a great disconnection in Galán who did not believe anything that was happening. Even in the tiebreak itself, after Coello and Tapia apparently won a normal point, the referee called a let and annulled it. Why? Nobody knows, not even the players, the most accurate theory may be some sound in the audience. Even so, Ale and Fede gave the point to their rivals taking the match to the third and definitive set.

The No. 1’s seemed to have the arrow pointing up in the final set, while Ale was still a little dazed by the fast pace of the game. But here appeared the great figure of Chingotto. The player from Olavarría did not hesitate throughout the match, omnipresent, punishing the crosscourt with his vipers, generating impossible gaps and becoming a wall at the net. A 6-2 final did justice to a tireless Federico Chingotto.
Bea and Delfi get used to winning
Second title for Jorge Martinez today and second consecutive title for Bea Gonzalez and Delfina Brea. The couple beat Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez 6-4, 6-4 in their second final as a couple.
The result marks the parity that existed throughout the match, in which at times, it seemed that neither couple wanted to take their serve. Looking back, Bea and Delfi have won no less than five of the last eight tournaments.

As of today the points gap between them and Paula-Ari is significant. Unfortunately, the two trophies they have lifted this year have been in the P2 category which gives less points; but there are still many tournaments to play and anything can happen.
