The world of padel is preparing for an unprecedented event with the Reserve Cup, a new professional competition that promises to dazzle fans of this exciting sport. From the 8th to the 10th of February, Miami will become the epicentre of world padel, with the participation of the best players on the circuit and the outstanding presence of NBA stars and legends of the sport.
The Reserve Cup, presented by luxury watch brand Richard Mille, promises a unique combination of spectacle and sport. Over three days, fans will witness thrilling matches featuring the world’s best players, along with special guests such as Juan Martin Diaz, the flagship of Reserve, the exclusive premium club created by Wayne Boich.
The tournaments will be played at the luxurious Reserve Padel Miami Seaplane club, an incomparable setting that promises to offer an unforgettable spectacle. The players, which include the likes of Juan Lebron, Alejandro Galan, Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno, will compete for a prize of half a million dollars.
The Reserve Cup introduces a revolutionary competition format. Two teams of 7 players will be selected through a draft system, led by captains Jimmy Butler, star of the Miami Heat, and Derek Jeter, legend of the New York Yankees.
Each team will compete over three days in three-set matches, with the possibility of mid-match substitutions, an unprecedented innovation in the world of padel. The first day’s matches will be worth one point, the second day’s matches will be worth two points, and the third day’s matches will be worth three points. The team that accumulates the most points at the end of the tournament will be proclaimed champion of the Reserve Cup.
The Reserve Cup will not only offer exciting padel matches, but also an unrivalled spectacle and a series of surprise activations for fans. From an exclusive Pro-AM tournament to a charity match with the participation of prominent personalities such as Venus Williams and Claire Holt, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience for all attendees. In fact, ticket prices range from $20 to $750.
According to the organisers, the tournament will be streamed on their YouTube channel. But for that we will have to wait until Thursday, February 8 at 23:00 Spanish time (17:00 in Miami and 19:00 in Argentina).
With the Reserve Cup, padel is consolidating its position as one of the fastest growing sports worldwide, and Miami is positioning itself as one of the world capitals of our favourite sport.
