Paquito Navarro and Fede Chingotto have been proclaimed champions of the World Padel Tour Master Final 2023 by defeating Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan 6-1, 6-4 in the final.
Paquito Navarro has once again shown his love for the last dance, winning last year’s final tournaments alongside Martin Di Nenno and now securing the Masters title alongside Fede Chingotto. In the semifinals they beat the number one couple, something they hadn’t achieved all year, and today they defeated the number three couple in the final, who had won 3 consecutive titles.
The first set started with a break in favour of Lebron and Galan. However, Paquito and Fede reacted brilliantly, winning 6 consecutive games against the number 3 pairing to take a 6-1 lead in the final. The couple 4 stopped Lebron and Galan, breaking all their serves and winning the four golden points at stake.
The Spanish-Argentine duo showed an excellent level of play. The question was to see if they could keep it up in the second set, or to see how Lebron and Galan would react. Paquito and Chingotto took the lead with another break, but the Spanish couple managed to neutralise their opponents’ advantage and put the score at 4-4. Jorge Martinez’s players didn’t last long, as in the ninth game they conceded another break, this time a decisive one, as Paquito and Chingotto closed out the match with a 6-4 win in the following game.
They couldn’t have a better farewell than this. Paquito Navarro and Fede Chingotto will break up in 2024, but they do it with a sweet taste, having won the last World Padel Tour Final Master.
