HEAD has announced the extension of its collaboration as the official ball of the Asia Pacific Padel Tour (APPT), thus consolidating its presence in the Asian continent. This agreement covers all competitions on the circuit, including the Padel Open, the Grand Slam and the Master tournaments.
The alliance between HEAD and APPT began in 2024 with the aim of boosting the growth of padel in the Asia-Pacific region, a rapidly expanding market. The brand, with more than two decades of experience in the sport, reaffirms its commitment to providing high-quality equipment to support the development of padel worldwide.
Wolfgang Grau, Category Manager Racquetsport & Area Sales Manager at HEAD, emphasised the importance of this renewal: ‘Interest in padel is growing in Asia and the APPT is responding to demand with a professional circuit at the continental level. We are proud to be part of this development and to continue supporting the APPT with our official balls’.
The new contract establishes that all competitions on the circuit will be played with the new HEAD PADEL PRO+ and HEAD PADEL PRO S+, improved versions of the PRO and PRO S models. These balls have been designed to offer greater durability and better pressure retention, guaranteeing more reliable performance and an optimal playing experience.
HEAD also plans to carry out multiple activations during the tournaments, including sports clinics for players and events on court, as well as having a prominent presence off court with exclusive areas for product promotion and sales.
Carlos Carrillo, CEO of the Asia Pacific Padel Tour, welcomed the continuation of the alliance: ‘We at APPT are delighted to continue to have HEAD as our official ball. They have been with us from the start and, as we grow, we are proud that one of the most important brands in the sector continues to support our circuit’.
The APPT is the first professional padel circuit in Asia and has established itself as the third most important in the world, behind only Premier Padel and A1 Padel. With a presence in 14 countries, its mission is to promote padel in the region and provide a competitive platform for professional players, as well as generating opportunities for fans to participate in tournaments and events.
One of the highlights of the circuit is its impact on the mobility of players and fans. According to official data, two out of three players are amateurs and 78% of them travel to different Asian cities to compete, which demonstrates the growing interest and the high level of commitment to the sport.
The extended agreement between HEAD and APPT will come into effect with the next tournament in Bangkok, to be held at the end of January. This event will mark a milestone in the expansion of padel in the region and will consolidate HEAD as one of the key brands in the development of the sport in Asia-Pacific.
