The Genova Premier Padel P2 already knows its winning couples!

Chingotto and Galán’s exhibition against the No. 1s

The men’s final of the Genoa Premier Padel P2 once again pitted Fede Chingotto and Ale Galán against Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello, the top two seeds of the tournament.

There have been eight matches between these two couples since the player from Olavarria and the one from Leganes decided to join paths. The balance with today’s match is in favour of Chingalán with 5 wins and 3 defeats.

In today’s match the number 1 pairing were overwhelmed by Chingotto and Galan, who needed just 45 minutes to take the match 6-1, 6-1. An exhibition from start to finish from the couple 2, who didn’t give their rivals a chance to get into the match.

With the numbers in hand, you can understand everything better. Chingotto and Galan didn’t let their opponents have any break point opportunities, winning 36 winners for just two unforced errors. For their part, Tapia and Coello had the same number of winners as errors, 16.

Ortega and Araújo continue their project with title

There’s no better way to restart a project than the way Marta Ortega and Sofía Araújo have done it. The Spaniard and the Portuguese have won the Genova Premier Padel P2 after beating Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría 6-3 and 7-6 in the final.

The start of the match was devastating for the number 1 pairing. 3-0 down at the start against Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo, who didn’t concede a single break point in the entire set. Ari and Paula couldn’t find any feeling on court and ended up losing the first set 6-3, committing 16 unforced errors, 10 more than their opponents.

However, Sanchez and Josemaria would show a version more in line with what we are used to. Although the score remained even, the number 1 seeds didn’t take advantage of two set balls that they had in their hands, and in the end it would take its toll on them. Sudden death would dictate the set and the match, as Marta Ortega and Sofía Araújo would end up taking it to be proclaimed champions of the tournament.

For Sofía Araújo this is the first title she has won in the Premier Padel, while for Marta Ortega it is her second, after winning last year’s Italy Major alongside Gemma Triay.
