Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea have won the Valladolid Master 2023 after beating Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 in the final.
The women’s final of the Valladolid Master 2023 pitted the number 2 and 3 seeds, Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega against Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea. The former would be looking for their first title as a couple in their second tournament together, while the latter wanted to taste the sweetness of victory again, as they did in Denmark.
Bea and Delfi come from behind to win their first Master
It was a great start for the Spaniards and Argentinians, and after some even opening games, they broke their opponents’ serve to take the lead. They would do even more with another break, which would give them the first set on a plate with a 6-2.
In the second set, Gemma Triay emerged, accompanied by Marta Ortega, who fought hard to avoid their opponents’ break points and ended up taking the match 7-5 in the third set.
Bea and Delfi returned to their best in the third set, and they did so with an early break that put them in the lead. Despite their opponents’ attempts, the number 3 seeds walked steadily towards victory, which they finally achieved with another 6-2.
Second title for Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea in this second stage as a couple. If they recently won the Copenhagen Open, now they have won their first Master.
The best padel in the world will now rest for a week before taking on the Valencia Open in the first week of July.
