Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria have won the Adeslas Valencia Open 2023 after beating Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega 6-3, 6-1 in the final.
The outcome in the women’s category of the Valencia Open 2023 would pit the two couples in form this week, Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría against Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega. It would be an unprecedented final, a final that had never been played before on the World Padel Tour.
The number 1 pairing got off to a better start, taking an early break to take the lead. However, Gemma and Marta got back on level terms early on. So, after six games the score was 3-3. From then on, Ari and Paula would dominate the following games, which would end up adding to their scoreboard to make it 6-3 in the first set.
In the second chapter of the final, the number 1’s went over the heads of their opponents, who were never allowed to do any damage on their serves. On the other hand, the player from Reus and the player from Cáceres damaged the return with ease, managing to break twice. About in no time, Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria were crowned 6-1 winners of the Valencia Open 2023.
With this victory, Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria have won 9 titles so far this season on the World Padel Tour, a number that brings them very close to number 1 and equals the milestone achieved by Mapi and Majo Sanchez Alayeto. They still have three more titles to win to match Ale Salazar and Gemma Triay.
Her next stop will be the Italy Major, the first women’s event of Premier Padel.
