Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria continue to enjoy their moment and win in Vigo

The women’s final of the Vigo Open 2023 once again pitted the two candidates to be the number 1 at the end of the year, Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria against Gemma Triay and Ale Salazar.

After Gemma and Ale’s great South American tour, it was Ari and Paula who took the baton and established themselves as the couple to beat.

As in most of the clashes between these couples, the 20×10 promised to be very evenly matched. However, it soon became clear that the players from Reus and Cáceres were going to set the pace of the match, with an offensive recital and little suffering in defence.

Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria dominated the match from start to finish against their main rivals on the circuit and with a 6-2 and 6-3 win they were proclaimed winners of the Vigo Open 2023, a tournament that brings back very good memories.

After the match, the player from Extremadura commented to the cameras: “We are a good couple both on and off the court. We’ve lost a lot of finals against them. They are difficult to beat. But we trust in ourselves”. His HEAD partner added: “Lately, we are playing pretty well against them, they are very important to us because they have made us improve“.

With this title, Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría continue their love affair with victory, winning their fourth consecutive tournament, their fifth of the season, and consolidate their position as number 1 in the ranking.

Furthermore, with their win in Vigo they also take the lead in the Race, where before the tournament they were 60 points behind Triay and Salazar.

The next match between these couples could be next week at the Danish Padel Open.
