Ari Sánchez, Paula Josemaría and Arturo Coello: record number 1s

In the firmament of world padel, three stars have shone with unprecedented intensity during the 2024 season: Ari Sánchez, Paula Josemaría and Arturo Coello. These athletes, from the HEAD family, have not only reached the top of the world rankings, but have also redefined the boundaries of the sport for yet another season.

HEAD boasts 3 No. 1s in its ranks

Arturo Coello: absolute dominance on the men’s circuit

If you have to define padel at its best, the name that resonates is Arturo Coello. The player from Valladolid has proved to be a total player. An undisputed number one who has all the necessary qualities to reign in padel. Perfection can be an abstract and diffuse concept, but if there is someone who comes close to it, it is undoubtedly Arturo.

Young, left-handed and 1.90m tall. His physique already betrays privileged conditions. However, what makes Coello unique is his ability to erase from his game the weaknesses that often accompany players of his size. No one of his size has ever achieved such agility and speed on court. A physical and technical prodigy who has dominated the season from start to finish.

The Premier Padel Finals will be his last major tournaments of the year. Arturo is just one win away from equalling his own record of consecutive wins (the 43 he achieved in 2023), set in 2023. But he is not satisfied with that. If he manages to win the title at the Palau Sant Jordi, he will not only break his record, but will close a historic season with 15 titles to his name.

Behind this dominance there is hard work, sacrifice and enormous dedication. Coello has spared no effort, even giving up his summer holidays to continue improving. Of course, his HEAD Extreme Pro, awarded as the best power racket of 2024 in the Best Padel Awards, has been a key piece in its success.

Ari and Paula: undisputed queens

On the women’s circuit, Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría have reached the Olympus of padel. Not only have they revalidated their position as number one in the world, but they have also become the most successful couple in history. An impressive milestone that consolidates their absolute dominance.

What is most frightening about this duo is the tranquility with which they have ruled the circuit in 2024. No couple has been able to stand up to them or challenge their reign. From the top, Ari and Paula look down on the rest from an impassable fortress, where they have built an impregnable castle with a single formula: work, perseverance and more work.

The numbers are devastating: 9 titles this season and a total of 36 trophies as a couple. A figure that reinforces their status as the most perfect and effective machine that women’s padel has ever produced. The one complements the other with surgical precision, as if they were a Swiss watch.

What’s more, this year, the prestigious financial magazine Forbes Women recognised the hard work and successful career of Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, placing them among the 50 most influential sportswomen in Spain in 2024.

But if there is one thing that defines their game, it is their lethal weapons. Paula deploys dynamite from the right with the HEAD Extreme Motion, while Ari brings temper and elegance from the backhand with the HEAD Speed Motion. A lethal combination that has been impossible for their opponents to counter.

HEAD: the partner on the road to excellence

Behind every winning shot and every trophy lifted, HEAD has been there as the perfect partner. The trust that Ari, Paula and Arturo place in HEAD equipment is testament to the brand’s quality and commitment to sporting excellence.

The 2024 season will be remembered as the year that Ari Sanchez, Paula Josemaria and Arturo Coello not only reached the pinnacle of world padel, but also inspired millions with their talent, hard work and sacrifice.

And that’s not the end of the good news for the Austrian brand, because the entire HEAD ambassador team is also celebrating. In total, HEAD players have won 29 tournaments in 2024 (FIP) and have nine players in their ranks in the top 30 of the ranking (male and female): Ari Sanchez, Paula Josemaria, Arturo Coello, Andrea Ustero, Edu Alonso, Marina Guinart, Carmen Goenaga, Ksenia Sharifova and Fran Guerrero.
