Couples 3 reigned in Sweden! Neither the number 1 or 2 seeds, the couples 3 won the finals of the Malmö Padel Open. Ale Galan and Juan Lebron in the men’s category and Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea in the women’s added a new title to their World Padel Tour trophy cabinet, the fourth of the season for both pairings.
Ale Galan and Juan Lebron beat again the Superpibes
Couples 2 and 3 met for the title in Sweden, Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno against Juan Lebron and Ale Galan promised a high voltage match.
The match started with a succession of breaks on court, where neither couple managed to impose their serve. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Lebron and Galan took the lead and made the score 4-1 in their favour. However, the Superpibes fought tirelessly in the first set and managed to get close, but it wasn’t enough. In the end, Ale and Juan won the first set with a final score of 6-3.
In the second episode, parity set in at 20×10 and neither couple managed to break the other’s serve. Despite this, Lebron and Galan managed to break their opponents’ serve in the ninth game, the only game of the set. At 5-4 and serving, the couple 3 closed the match with a 6-4. After an hour and a half of battle, Ale Galan and Juan Lebron were crowned champions of the Malmö Padel Open 2023.
Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea beat Salazar and Araújo
The finals of the Malmö Padel Open kicked off on Sunday with Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea facing Ale Salazar and Sofia Araújo, couples 3 and 4 of the ranking.
Both couples started the match with a lot of energy. There was a break and a counterbreak at the start of the match. After that, the serves started to impose themselves. Neither couple managed to break their opponents’ serves, so the score remained even. However, Bea and Delfi took a step forward and managed to get an important break, with which they managed to close the first set with a 6-4.
In the second set, the breaks were again the protagonists on both sides of the court. After the first six games, the score was still 3-3. At that point, Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez changed the dynamic of the match with another valuable break. From that moment, they opened a definitive advantage on the scoreboard and sealed the victory with a 6-3 in the second set. In this way, Bea and Delfi won their fourth World Padel Tour title at the Malmö Padel Open 2023.
